The Ooni of Ife passes on!!!

The Ooni of Ile Ife, Oba Okunade Sijuwade is dead. He died yesterday in a London Hospital at the ripe age of 85.

The late Monarch ascended to the throne on December 6, 1980 as the fifth Ooni of Ife following the death of Oba Aderemi. Oba Sijuwade was widely regarded as one of the wealthiest and most influential Kings in Africa and indeed played a considerable role in the politics of Osun State. He is survived by wives and children.
